Our Resources, Operations and Personnel
Nobelpharma was established in June 2003 as a joint-venture company by Inabata & Co.,Ltd. and Hisanaga and Company (YK). The overall cost, including R&D, is estimated at approximately 3.2 billion yen (U.S.$ 29.1 million) over a six year period.
Hisanaga and Company(YK) provides the know-how and the experience of pharmaceuticals, development and marketing, and oversees company operations. Almost all of our personnel comprising 45 executives and employees, as of December 2006, have 20 or more years of experience in research and development at major pharmaceutical companies, where they have been principally involved in clinical research as well as NDA submission and obtaining approvals for pharmaceutical manufacturing and importing.
Nobelpharma aims to address unmet pharmaceutical needs by researching and developing pharmaceuticals not currently handled by existing pharmaceutical companies. By employing small number of specialized personnel we are able to reduce development costs and carry out efficiently. As a result, we make the research and development of small market size pharmaceuticals possible. Our priority of drug development is needs from the patients and the medical societies. We accord precedence to pharmaceuticals strongly desired by patient groups and institutions in selecting our the themes development. In particular, we emphasize the research and development of orphan drugs (pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of rare diseases), off-label use pharmaceuticals ,and pediatric pharmaceuticals.
